HornetPro
Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Hornet Productions Ltd. ("HornetPro") operates the HornetPro service at hornetpro.dev from Alberta, Canada. We are the controller of personal information collected through the Service.
2. What we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly (name, email, phone, billing address, company), authentication data, content you upload, support messages, and limited technical data automatically collected when you use the Service (IP address, user agent, page paths, timestamps). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
3. Why we collect it
We use personal information to: provide the Service, authenticate you, bill you, communicate operationally (e.g. service notices), respond to support requests, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Service. We rely on the legal basis of contract performance for most processing, with legitimate interest for security and product analytics.
4. Marketing and email
We send transactional and operational email by default (account, billing, security). We send marketing email only with your express or implied consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and you can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time without affecting transactional communications.
5. Sharing with service providers
We share personal information with vetted providers strictly as needed to run the Service:
- Anthropic — AI model provider for the builder (prompts and minimal context are sent to the model API).
- Resend — transactional email delivery and inbound mail relay.
- Cloudflare — anti-bot challenge on public forms (Turnstile).
- Pangolin / newt — tunnelling and ingress.
Each provider processes data under their own terms and security commitments. We don't sell personal information.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use first-party session cookies required for authentication and CSRF protection. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we ever add product analytics, we will use a privacy-respecting tool and disclose it here.
7. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as you have an active account plus a reasonable period (typically 12 months) to satisfy legal, accounting, and operational needs. Backups roll on the schedules described in our internal backup policy.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (TLS), least-privilege database access, row-level isolation between tenants, encrypted secrets at rest, regular backups stored separately from the production stack, and a documented restore procedure. No system is perfectly secure; we'll notify affected customers of a material breach without unreasonable delay as required by applicable law.
9. Your rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law, you can request access to the personal information HornetPro holds about you (your name, email, phone, billing address, account activity), ask us to correct it, withdraw consent for non-essential processing (which may affect our ability to provide the Service), and request deletion of your account. Email support@hornetpro.dev to exercise these rights — we'll respond within 30 days.
Personal information ≠ Customer Content. Privacy law applies to information about you as an individual. It does not grant a right to export your site's code, design, database content, or files — those are Customer Content and are governed by the Terms of Service (HornetPro is a proprietary platform; we don't commit to data export of Customer Content).
10. International transfers
Personal information is stored and processed in Canada and the United States (depending on the service provider). By using HornetPro you consent to this transfer. Customers in other jurisdictions should review whether this is acceptable under their local laws.
11. Children
The Service isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we'll delete it.
12. Changes
If we materially change this Privacy Policy we'll update the "last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify customers by email or in-product.
13. Contact
Privacy questions or requests: support@hornetpro.dev. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, if you reside in Alberta, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
